Egg-stra Good Weekend

Easter was over a week ago and this post is obviously very late. But I want to make sure I get it done, include it in the blog and save the memories for us to have forever. Because that's what it's all about.The memories. 

The Easter weekend started great for us! We said a tearful (from me) "goodbye" to a great, trusty, big, old friend.And "hello" to a new friend that we will have for-ev-er! eek! Still so excited!

Me, Nana, Landon and Cheryl (Tante) had an amazing night on Saturday! I forgot my camera (I still can't believe it), but we had such a great time. We started at the Cheesecake Factory where Landon promptly burned his finger on a light. After a short cry, we had a yummy dinner and then headed to The Kauffman Center to see Narnia.Landon loved it! His joy made it impossible for Nana, Tante and I to have a bad time! The four of us have such a great time together!!! 
We got home from Narnia fairly late, but I still had some work to do. Scott was so awesome and he offered to help me bake the Easter goodies!

Pinterest has a way of making things look like they will be incredibly easy to do.Just a little of this, a dash of that and... Voila...

But in reality...

everything I make ends up looking like a 2nd grade art project.(sigh)
Then, it was time for the ceremonial setting out of Easter Baskets.This is something I will always love to do. I love that it's just me and Scott, while our precious boys are soundly sleeping, that set out the goodies for the boys to wake to in the morning. Scott and I enjoy doing this and we sit and proudly admire our work afterwards...every time. 

What's that you say? Not everyone gets to enjoy the beauty of their Easter Baskets by the glowing lights of the Christmas Tree? Huh? That's sad. You should totally try it. That tree amps up the spirit no matter what holiday you're celebrating. 

And, it also pisses off my husband. That part you shouldn't try. 

But in the morning, my sweet boys didn't care what light was lighting their gifts. They were happy.I really think I could have put anything in those baskets and they would have been happy. They don't need anything and they don't ask for much (which came in handy this year seeing that the Bunny had just bought a car). The morning smiles make for a great start to our day!

And the rest of this Easter was perfect.  No big "Easter To-Do"... just the family... on a beautiful day... being together. 

After a great church service and a beautiful lunch...Let the hunt begin!!!

And the best part of Easter was saved for last.Marshall and Valerie planned for us to have a weenie roast that night.It was awesome and my camera was VERY happy!Some of these pics are my absolute favorites!

The Cruce (and Heimericks) family has now totally accepted my camera as part of the family.No more comments or eye rolls, just smiles all around!And when I say "jump" Brandon and Andrea say, "hell no, LeAnn, come on!" "how high?"

 In fact, Marshall even helped set the camera in a tree so we could set the timer and get a group shot! So nice, Marsh!
