Biker Dude

After realizing that Scott and I were the last parents on Earth to teach out almost 6 year old how to ride a bike with out training wheels, we decided that we needed to do it as soon as possible.

I didn't feel like we were behind, but asking friends and neighbors when they taught their 5 years olds everyone said last summer...oops

So, last week we hopped our man-child on the bike for an easy, peasy riding lesson.

His Maiden Voyage didn't work out so well...

So, like good parents would, we let him give up.

But a week later, we got him back on the saddle to try again. We went to the tennis courts where he would have even ground to ride his bike. I had a good feeling about this time!

I swear, he has more than one shirt. This was just a bad coincidence. :)

He had a much better attitude and he was excited!

He peddled his little heart out. And this time, when at first he didn't succeed (again)... he tried and tried again!

Until finally, Scott let go...

His smile was HUGE and we were all SO , so , so proud.

I was proud enough to put a picture of myself on the blog with 4 chins.

see how proud Kellen is? ha!

Since Kellen was too young to ride, we let him chow down on a bag of jelly beans while cheering his brother on! And as you can see in the video...he took full advantage of the jelly bean eating while mom and dad helped Landon!

It was amazing.

Scott and I will NEVER forget this day. The day our big boy got a little bit bigger.
