Apples Of My Eye

Sunday, I took the boys to Weston's Red Barn Farm. I did it by myself. Scott stayed home and sat on his butt ( just kidding. he worked his ass off on our yard:) and when he asked "Are you sure you can do this by yourself?", I laughed in his face, loaded the boys in the car...and got lost.

When we finally found it, we had a blast!
Everything was beautiful. The boys loved it all. My personal favorite was the Corn Maze.
I stood back and let the boys lead the way. We had taken one turn (maybe 12 steps) and to another family  walking by, Landon said, "Can you help us get out of here?". Not when I paid $4 a pop, buddy. :) So, we mazed on...
My favorite part of the maze was when Kellen decided he was going to be in charge. He took the map and made us stand behind him. He was so funny. If we tried to get in front of, or even next to him he would yell at us until we got back behing him. So cute!

And heaven help the soul who tries to take the map from my bossy, little boy...

Another Farm Great was the Tractor Ride. The boys absolutely loved this part! They hopped on and grinned the whole time! It was a nice, long ride to the pumpkin patch where people got off and picked pumpkins. Not us, we rode that puppy roundtrip! It was a full tractor, filled with cute families admiring their new pumpkins. It was quite a lenghty ride sitting butt-to-butt with strangers.

My sweet, loud-mouthed 5 year old, turns to me and asks,"Mommy, why do you always pee your pants?". Excuse me, Landon? I have never peed my pants." I said in a low(very embarassed) voice. "Well you said you always do." Landon said. I have never felt such a feeling. The feeling of knowing everyone is listening, waiting to hear where this is going to go. The poor people on the tractor trying their hardest not to make eye contact. "I never said that, Landon.", I told him through gritted teeth. "Mommy, you said when ladies have babies they pee their pants a lot." Landon announced.  Until then, I didn't notice that tractors move at a whopping 4 mph.

And for the record...I don't  recall saying that ladies who have babies pee their pants. Although, it is kind-of true, so maybe I did. :)

Next up, apple picking.
Landon has been learning about Johnny Appleseed at school, so this was pretty cool to him.
The trees were bare, but beautiful.

No apples on trees, no problem. We shall buy them from a cute, little store.
Landon asked the clerk for "apples for an apple pie and a recipe beacuse my mom doesn't know how to cook stuff." :)

And home we went with our apples in a bag to make an apple pie.
Finishing touches ...

Waiting...

Perfect!
Twas a perfect Fall day!
